Author Guidelines

Journal of Innovation in Community Excellence (JICE) welcomes submissions that align with the journal’s focus on innovative practices, research, and strategies in community service and development. Authors are encouraged to adhere to the following guidelines to ensure a smooth submission and review process. Manuscript formatting should consider the following flexible template.

  1. Article Types Accepted
  • Original Research Articles: Comprehensive studies presenting new findings or insights.
  • Case Studies: Detailed reports on specific community service activities, highlighting challenges and solutions.
  • Review Articles: Critical evaluations of existing literature or practices related to community development.
  • Conceptual Papers: Theoretical discussions that propose new frameworks or ideas for advancing community excellence.
  1. General Submission Guidelines
  • Language: All submissions must be written in clear, concise, and grammatically correct English.
  • Originality: Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere. Authors must ensure the work is free of plagiarism.
  • Word Count: Manuscripts should generally range between 4,000–8,000 words, including references, tables, and figures.
  • Formatting: Submissions should follow the APA (7th Edition) style for citations and references.
  1. Manuscript Preparation
  • Title Page:
    • Title of the article (concise and informative).
    • Full names, affiliations, and contact information of all authors.
    • The corresponding author was identified.
  • Abstract: A structured abstract of 150–250 words summarising the objectives, methods, results, and significance of the study.
  • Keywords: Provide 4–6 keywords to aid in the discoverability of the article.
  • Main Body:
    • Introduction: Clearly state the research problem, objectives, and significance of the study.
    • Methodology: Provide sufficient details about the research design, participants, instruments, and procedures.
    • Results: Present findings clearly, with appropriate use of tables, figures, and statistical analyses.
    • Discussion and Conclusion: Interpret results, highlight implications, and discuss limitations and future research directions.
  • References: Include all cited works, following APA (7th Edition) style.
  1. Tables, Figures, and Supplementary Materials
  • Include tables and figures within the manuscript where they are referenced.
  • Ensure all images are high-resolution (minimum 300 dpi).
  • Provide a title and caption for each table and figure.
  1. Ethical Compliance
  • Human and Animal Subjects: Authors must include an ethics statement confirming compliance with relevant ethical standards, including informed consent from participants.
  • Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any conflicts of interest in a separate section within the manuscript.
  • Funding: Clearly state all sources of financial support for the research.
  1. Submission Process
  • All manuscripts must be submitted via the journal’s online submission system.
  • During submission, authors must:
    • Indicate the article type.
    • Confirm that the manuscript complies with the journal’s ethical policies.
    • Opt for Fast-Track processing if desired (subject to additional fees).
  1. Peer Review Process
  • Manuscripts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process. Authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts based on reviewer comments.

  1. Post-Acceptance
  • Accepted manuscripts proceed to copyediting, proofreading, and formatting. Authors will be provided with proofs for review before publication.

  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.
